Happy Halloween!

This Halloween started out a little stressful. Unless you live in Hawaii or lived, you have no idea what a pain in the butt getting a safety check is. I'm not going to go into it but a good 5 hours of my favorite holiday was spent at the inspection place.
Anyways....
My little girls first Halloween.

Hula outfit made by ACrochetDesigns from Etsy.

I had her in her hula costume on for a little while. It was a bit windy with some sprinkles so she might have been chilly. We took a couple photos and called it quits for her.
Trick-or-treating starts at 4:30 here and goes till 8.
Does that seem long to anyone else?
Our candy lasted till 7 which I thought was pretty good.

Next year we will be doing a little trick-or-treating ourselfs.
Quite excited about that!

And of course there is a photo shoot that is coming soon with this hula girl.
I just cant help myself!

8 Months - advice PLEASE

One of these days I will get this post up on the day that she actually turns her new age.

Emma has been a handful this past month. So many new things have started that it has been hard for me to keep up with her.

~She has been low crawling her heart out. I'm not sure if I'm ready for a full on crawler because its hard to keep up with her now at this pace.

~Still loving all her foods.  Prunes, pears, green beans, peas, and squash seem to still be her favorites....cant forget about oranges too!

~She loves to be sung to. She stares at me mouth open in a daze.

~This next topic I would love some advice on.
My child doesn't no how to do this very well.
Sleeping.
I haven't had a full night sleep in over 8 months.
She has her last meal around 6. We take Bolo for a walk after that, then story time. Ill nurse her and she usually falls asleep in my arms.
She usually wakes up once again as I am putting her down in her crib and has another crying fit for a few minutes... if I'm lucky then dozes off.
But after that I am probably up a good 5-8 times throughout the night.
She nurses, then falls right back to sleep but it just doesn't seem normal for her to be up so many times. I have tried just letting her cry it out and she has now thrown up on herself twice from the screaming. (and that just makes everything worse when I have to change her sheets)  I have tried a noise machine. The longest it can be set for is a hour and it seems the moment it shuts off she is awake again so I don't always like to put it on.
She has also started waking up at around 5. I'm talking wide awake. This is killing me!
I don't know what else to do. If anyone has any ideas I would love to give them a try...or I might go mental.

~She now officially has grown two teeth.  Those things are like knives!

~She is becoming a stubborn little lady. She wants it her way or no way.

~She is in love with Bolo. If he is around she will not take her eyes off of him let alone if he is next to us. That means she is touching, climbing, patting and squealing with excitement.

~Emma is totally and completely done with pacifiers.  She wants nothing to do with the weird rubbery things in her mouth anymore. It seemed like it  happened overnight.

~She has learned how to splash in the bath tub. I'm just just talking splash here and there, I'm talking during the whole bath. Its like she cant control her arms. I am soaking wet and there is water all over the floor.

I feel like I have been slaking on this blog lately.

North Shore

The swells are getting pretty large in my neck of the woods.
That means winter is a coming.
I took Emma to see the monsters a little while ago.
Haleiwa Ali'i Beach was busy...but not on shore.
We checked out a new park while we were on that side of the island.
Kaiaka Bay park was deserted.
Emma and I were the only ones besides one other couple to be seen.
Beautiful scenery with a view of the Waialua Sugar Mill
View of Kaena Point
Iv seen pictures of this rock before talking about the sacredness of it. Now I have tried my hardest to find something on it but everything seems to have disappeared.
I had been wanting to take Emma to see a honu for some time now. Finally she has seen her first one.
Now we just need to get a better picture...and that means a better beach that doesn't have a million people, ropes and signs ruining the picture.
Overlooking the  famous Waimea Bay

And that concludes our trip north. :)

Beachin It

A good relaxing beach day was needed.
I didn't enhance this photo at all.
That's really how beautiful... amazing... gorgeous... spectacular...perfect this water is!
 Hawaii's "snowman" "sandman"
I think she enjoys it just as much

The list has been made and submitted. Now its just a waiting game to find out where we will be moving next.

Taking it all in - photo dump

All I keep thinking about is that our time here is dwindling down.
I take a zillion pictures for Emma to look back and think how lucky she was to have started her life here.

We just had our last summer here.
Bolo needs to fly in winter months so Emma, Bolo and myself will be leaving this beautiful island a little early.
As of now I cant picture myself anywhere else but here.
This place has really changed my life.

I wish Emma was able to grow up here being a carefree, relaxed and calm child. I see all the kids riding their skateboards with a boogie board in hand going as fast as they can to jump into the water as quickly as possible.

We are going to just continue to live it up here.  A crazy amount of pictures, a crazy amount of activity's, a crazy amount of memories to be made.

Wordless Wednesday

Pumpkin Patch (lots of photos of Emma sitting next to pumpkings)

I'm so excited for Emma's first Halloween. She had her costume ordered last month ...that's how excited I am (Bolo had his too)!
We took her to one of the two pumpkin patches on island. I cant wait till she is even older so that she can participate in all the fun activity's that come along with these type of outings.

We bought the largest pumpkin that we could find...upcoming post!

Day Out

Mike was nice enough on his day off to let me get out of the house for a little bit without my lil one.
This hike was attempted once before with Emma in tow, but never finished. Its a little steep at the end and I didn't want to be a bad mom.....  maybe a little of me was chicken too.
This time there was no excuse not to make it to the top....even though I was still chicken!
 The views are unreal!

Swimming to a small island to explore.
I had been once before but each time is a different. That is why I don't think I would ever get tired of the island of Oahu. Even if you have done it a million times things always change.
A couple of sea birds. Oahu in the distance.
 Love Fridays!
Having just a couple hours to recharge my batteries makes all the difference
