The 2012 Military Spouse Appreciation Day Blog Hop
Today I am Linking up with Household 6 Diva and Riding the Roller Coaster for Military Spouse Appreciation Day.
Hi!!!
I'm Katie, married to Mike. We are currently living in Oahu, Hawaii, and loving it. Coming from North Carolina and before that our home state of Ohio. We have been together for almost 5 years now and just celebrated our one year anniversary of marriage. All-tho we don't have and kiddo's yet, we have two of the cutest puppy's ever.
I have been a hairstylist for a little over 7 years and love it. Meeting new people everyday is just one of the perks. We just PCSed a few months ago so I have yet to get everything squared away to be able to start working, so the pups and I have been trying to keep busy in till then.
I started to blog as a way to journal what adventures we go through in our new journey and it is now turned into pretty much about everything. My attempt at cooking/baking, travel, crafting, and life. I hope you stay awhile or visit again soon as Mike and I continue our life with the USMC!
Happy Military Spouse Appreciation Day!

Random...
Mikes surgery went well. He surprisingly isn't in that much pain.
Drunk guy at the beach. He enjoyed rolling around in the sand. We watched him for a while, very entertaining!
Happy Hour at the Hard Rock!
I love this!
Another sunset picture. There will probably be a lot of these.

A little of our Weekend
This weekend was spent running around mostly spending money that we didn't need to spend. I had a few things planned to do but we didn't do a single one of them which was OK because the the things we did do needed to be done...(did that make sense?)
Back to the Waikiki Market Place to pick up a few things. You walk into this place and there is something new to see each and every time, and you cant help to buy because things are so cheap!
The guys that that make the statues are so talented! All from banging a metal rod on some wood and this is what they make. I could have stood there for hours and watched!
Dole Whip anyone? This was just a stand in the Market Place that we stopped at... not the Dole Plantation ice cream experience, but it was still good. Mike had the pineapple flavor and I tried the peach.
(not really sure why I have a crooked eyebrow?)
The Adventures 3D...$30 later! No popcorn or snacks..wow! So expensive!
Good movie..long, but good. He was happy!!!
Mike had a little time to spare before a dentist appointment so we made a stop at the beach on base.
Beautiful!
We are now # 2 for base housing waiting list. When I heard that I almost fell out of my chair. I never thought that the number was ever going to change from # 6. I'm still shocked over it. On that other hand I am told that I will probably be moving ALONE again. He will be leaving sooner then later for another training exercise. I am just thankful it is not a deployment yet.

Link Up Friday!
I'm linking up with the little things we do for the fill in the blank Friday.... link up too to join the fun!
1. My bedtime routine includes,
Brushing teeth, washing face, taking pups out to pee, kissing hubs goodnight!
2. I am,
Craving sweets at the moment!
3. I can't stand,
Bad Drivers!!! because they make things a little more difficult for everyone on the road
4. My idea of relaxation would be,
laying on the beach listening to music, or taking my pup for a long walk.
5. If I had an extra $50, I would
take the hubby out for dinner, even tho it probably wouldn't cover all of it
6. The best thing about a bloggy friend is
They listen and always have something nice to say. Thanks guys!
7. A recipe I've been dying to try is,
Gosh there are sooo many! One that stands out is a fruit dip. So simple yet sounds so good!

Getting Old Sucks!
Once again I am having to watch Sheba go through one of her spells. Its like it all of a sudden hits her and hits her hard. I started to do a little research on the symptoms that she is having. Tilt of the head...loss of balance...walking in circles....no appetite. I found that everything that she is feeling is pointing to Vestibular Disease. It has to do with the inner ear and come on very quickly. (she is always having problems with he ears) There are a few other symptoms that come with this disease that she doesn't have but has had in the past.
Every time this has happened (about three different times now) I have always jumped in the car and driven straight to the Emergency Clinic to seek some answers. I'm now asking myself if she is on the right medication? Canine Cognitive Dysfunction, is what she was diagnosed with before and of coarse she has a few of those symptoms too being how old she is.
I'm at the point were I am hand feeding her, carrying her everywhere and crying at times because I don't know what to do anymore. The websites that I found does say that it will get better, could be a few days to a few weeks, and I feel like she has gotten better in the past with it but I was never told for sure that this is what she had so I I'm not sure if its the same thing. I will probably be making another vet appointment in the upcoming days to see what they say (even though I was just at the Dr. less then a week ago with her). Gosh, I just hate that she has to keep going through health issues. Getting old sucks!!!!

Day Off
Mike and I had a great day yesterday! He had the day off so we wanted to do some walking around.
We had our first beach day! It was perfect!
The Island Itch!!! Love the back scratcher with it. After dinner sunset
Stopping and having one last drink before calling it a night.
He's back to work today.... :(
He's Home!!!
Guess who is home!!! He said he had a amazing time and learned a lot of new things while he was training in the Philippines! Here are some of the few pictures he took.
Mike said he took this one for me.... look at the SCISSORS!!! CRAZY!!! When I picked him up, he had really long hair. I asked him if they didn't get haircuts out there and he explained to me that he was scared to sit in the chair. Now I know why!!!
This is a volcano they were able to hike on some time off.

Amazing!
