Ka'ena Point

   Trying to run away from the rain today, we headed to the Leeward side of the island to see if there were dry sky's for a hike. We had a different one in mind, but decided because it was raining on and off here too, that it might not be a great idea to be stuck on a mountain...so we decided on Ka'ena Point.

   I had done this hike once before, but from the other side. I think this side is way is better.

 There were four of them just lounging around.

Waahila Ridge Trail - Failed

     I stumbled on this hike when I was reading about another one and thank goodness I did! It sounded awesome with some amazing views. 
    It was raining on and off the whole morning at home but because the weather is so different through the whole island we took our chances hoping for the best.
    It was such a beautiful drive getting up to the park. Winding in and out up a pretty steep hill.

I love hikes with Cook Pines.

 Soaking wet! 

   So our plan was to finish Wa'ahila Ridge and continue to Mt. Olympus. (they connect)
   We  walked for a good hour with it down pouring and with this hike being about 6 miles long we weren't even close to the end not to mention, Mt. Olympus is no joke.  
   We decided because the rain was not letting up, the slippery rocks were making us take even longer and we were in the clouds with no great view, we turned around.

It was such a cool hike that we will be doing again for sure!

Pintrest Fail!

   I have been a Pintrester for some time now and this is my very first fail, which I think is not that bad.

I saw these AMAZING looking Italian cookies that I was dying to try.

I followed the recipe perfectly!

What the hell went wrong? 

I have no clue?

 My pastry's did not want to come off the parchment paper.

They were soggy so they were hard to pick up.
They weren't even cooked in the middle. 

 I'm a little pissed that I used all of the cooking oil in my house.

Not really what I had in mind. 

Random Night

    Mike is MIA tonight so I am trying to keep busy do nothing. 

It is pulling teeth trying to get him to eat sushi with me so I decided to order take out for dinner for myself. I found a really good place in town that you would never walk into in less someone recommends it... which is how I found out about it.

       I ordered more then just this, but it was already in my belly when I decided to take a picture.

 I'm not a full sushi lover. I only eat the cooked stuff. I haven't quite had the taste for raw yet. 

After dinner, I gave my self a pedicure and watched 1 of my top 5 favorite movies.

  After Bolo's walk, I was doing some browsing... and found the funnies website ever! I highly recommend clicking HERE! 

The more I scrolled down the more I laughed!

I tried to duplicate a little of the cuteness but failed miserably.

 First with a stick of butter

Then with a clementine

 I was getting frustrated and so was he.

Seriously, go check THIS out! This dog is so well behaved!

Another of my top 5 favorite movies just started, 

So I'm going to cuddle up with the pup and just relax for the rest of the night. I'm excited to not have to fight for bed space tonight...well...except with Bolo.

Comatose

   I think I gained 40 lbs just today alone.  

A good portion of the day was spent stuffing my face with some awesome food!

 We hadn't been to the famous Cinnamon's yet.... and because the Browns game started later then usual...we were finally able to go. 

It is very rare that Mike and I will wait at a restaurant for 45 min to get a table, but today that happened.   

 The amazing Red Velvet Pancakes. Who ever thought of this is a genius!

Yes... this was only one of the sides that I ordered and yes...that is white chocolate drizzled on top.

  After the game....Mike and I when to brave the Grocery store. OH MY! It was a big mistake that I waited 2 days before Christmas to do my shopping. 

I also have forgotten a few thing so will have to go again.

We were planning on going to a different restaurant that we hadn't been to yet for dinner, but decided to postpone that for a different day. Instead we headed to Haleiwa Joe's. I took this picture before we were seated. Such a beautiful garden that I wish we would have been able to explore.  

Mike made a comment that he hopes we get the table in the corner with the nice views....and we did!

We stuffed our faces with some delish food and I am now in a coma.

Gym...here I come!

Friday Fun

    Quick Hike today with some lady's from work. Kuliouou Ridge was done again because of the great views. I thought for sure we would have been in the clouds once we got to the top but it was surprisingly clear. 

*Key thing to remember: Eat breakfast before doing this.... I learned my lesson.
