Backyard Fun

This pool was screaming my name at the store.
I could not leave without it.

Such a perfect purchases!

I had been reading about baby sensory fun ideas and found this activity great for Emma's age.
Uses Greek Yogurt and a drop of food coloring.
I knew it was going to get messy...that was the fun part for her.  :)
Somebody smelled some food.

Ok, so I did not plan ahead.
Lets just say mama needed a bath after baby.

Last of the Empty Smile

Someone is full on teething. I just need to keep telling myself that it is soon going to be over.
Boy do I wish it would hurry up.
My calm baby has been a little bit of a crazy baby lately.
Demanding to be held but when I hold her she doesn't want to be held.
Wants to eat but doesn't.
Woke up four hours early and refused to go back to sleep.
Overly dramatic.
Crying for no reason
Doesn't want to take naps
Let me tell you, its been fun around my house.
My little lady has two little teeth sprouting. I'm going to miss these gummy smiles but with teeth come new experiences.

Sorry Bolo, I had to do it!

Staycation

In June I had a birthday.
Mike gave me a gift for a massage and facial at a hotel in Waikiki.
We decided to make it a weekend getaway instead of just a spa treatment.
It took 3 months to find a good time to go/get a room reservation.
And it was well worth the wait!
After my relaxing 2 hours, (and the Ohio State football game was over) we made our way to the beach to watch the sunset.

Even though I am not a huge fan of Waikiki and try to avoided it at all costs, it is a really nice spot to watch the sun disappear.

A little over a year ago, this would have been the time that we would have been figuring out which bar we were going to start our night at.
Times definitely have changed!
We went to dinner and by 8 were up in our room cuddling with our lil one.

Sacred Pile of Rocks....and a little sunset

Iv been to a couple heiau's around this island and I'm adding one more to the list.
This one is so close to my house and I never knew it was there till this past weekend.
Heiau's were a place for sacrifice, celebrate good harvest or birth.
This one was thought to be a agriculture Heiau and later in time changed to be dedicated to the success in war.
All of these rocks have been carried here.

This property also has a huge garden with numerous fruits and vegetables growing.
This was a pretty cool area.
Mike was on duty on Labor Day so Emma and myself took a little trip to a beach that we have never been to. I wanted to catch the sunset but come to find out it wasn't really a good spot for that.
It was a good spot to see Diamond Head, Honolulu and Waikiki though.
There had to be at least on picture of her in this post.   :)
Like I said, this time of year it probably wasn't the best spot to see the sunset.
Still pretty colors though.

mmm....

Emma has started eating food.
She had been excited to get that spoon into mouth for a while now.
I have been making all of her all of her delicacy's lately.
I'm not opposed to pre-made baby food, but this is just one of the reasons why I am no longer working. So I have time to do things like this.
Does anyone notice the difference in color of the homemade verses the packaged?
Which one would you rather eat?

Emma's real first food was mashed banana.
They tell you not to start with fruits in till the child is used to vegetables.
I just couldn't resist and that was all I had that was ready to eat. oops.

 and....she loved it!
Its now time to really chunk her up.
and have a much smellier diaper!

Photo Dump with a Drs update

Sorry in advance to how many pictures there are.
We went to the park the other day and someone was in a fantastic mood.
I just cant get enough of this girl. She has been the best thing that has ever happened to me.

We went to her 6 month Dr. appointment yesterday. She had her shots which she handled like a trooper! This was the first time that she just gave out a little cry instead of screaming for about 3 minutes but what seems like a hour.  I had previously weighed her using my scale at home and come to find out my scale sucks. Instead of the 16 lbs that I thought she weighed, she really weighs 14 lbs 2 oz.
We also had the OK to go head and start food. (I may or may no have already started)
I have some cute pictures of her first taste that are coming soon.
The Dr. also thinks she is going to start crawling very soon. She has been scooting everywhere but can now bring her knees up a little. Time to baby proof!

has this happened to anyone else????

I have commented on a couple of blogs recently and I have received emails back saying there has been a delivery failure. I will rewrite the comment, send it again and like before it is a failure. Iv tried it on my computer and phone and it still wants to hate me.
Has this happened to anyone else or am I the only lucky one?
Help me :/

Emmas hike to Maunawili Falls

Iv done this hike a couple of times, but it needed to be done just once more for Emma.
This hike has gotten EXTREMELY popular! Both times that I have hiked this trail before I have NEVER seen it this busy. It almost makes me not like this trail anymore. :(  Its like walking in a line to the waterfall with a bunch of strangers. This trail head is also in a residential neighborhood. There are cars everywhere parked along the street. And when there are that many people it can get noisy and some of those careless people like to leave their trash behind.
I personally think that this hike will be close very soon.
adventure baby
I'm surprised that I got some photos with other people not in them.
I big group just left as I was taking this picture. I finally have a picture of the falls with no one else in it.
 3rd times a charm.
