Pacific Aviation Museum

Ford Island was at center of the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941.
Emma and I took a drive over the bridge to explore the Aviation Museum.
All of these planes have been rehabbed
Ford Island is the small middle island in this model.

  Authentic Japanese Plane
Bullet holes from the attack.
Gives me goosebumps.

Such a amazing place with so much history.

Happy Valentines Day!!!

I did this "shoot" once before....but it didn't come out the best.  Trying it again once Emma was a touch older made it so much better.

I hope everyone has a loving day!

Luakaha Falls

These falls have been on my list of things to do for awhile now. They are located behind someones home that doesn't like people in their back yard. Yes... Behind this extremely lucky persons house is this HUGE waterfall.
Every time they walk out of their door this is what they see.
But with comes that....comes people like me :)  (but im quiet and i don't leave trash)

Now technically this waterfall is not theirs.
It is on the Board of Waters property so, yes...it is trespassing but as long as you stay off of this houses grass the home owners cant do anything...but if you get caught by the Board of Water that is another story.

It is a short walk to where you have to scale down a rock to get to the bottom of the falls.
Doesn't look to difficult in pictures but it was definitely a little sketchy.
Thank goodness for the rope.
As you can see behind me is the well manicured lawn of these peoples home.
 It was very pretty.
I didn't get to take a head-on photo of the whole thing without any branches in the way because that would mean I was inching my way towards the forbidden grass.
As we made our way up we were greeted by the not so nice homeowner.
Killing her with kindness and still receiving attitude back we quickly left.
I understand that it would become extremely annoying that there are always people in your back yard area (and probably some disrespectful people at that)...but when you live by a huge beautiful waterfall and its not "technically" yours, people are going to want to share in the beauty.

I'm just glad I got my photos.
I wont be back lady...don't worry.

Volcom Pipe Pro 2015

I love going to watch the surf competitions on Oahu. I'm just so bad when it comes to the dates that they are going on. Winter time they are in full force but I seem to always miss them. Hiking the pillboxes gave us the opportunity to finally be in the area to watch the last surfing competition this winter.

 The waves were prime.

Of course I gotta throw one in here.

Ehukai Pillbox

I haven't been on to many hikes in the North Shore of Oahu. There are a lot of sections that are government land (military training) or the hikes are just wayyy out of my league. Mike, Emma and I decided to head north and check this one off my list. We only have a couple weekends left in Hawaii so I am really starting to buckle down with things that we need to see before we leave.

I knew that the last surfing competition was coming up but I just wasn't sure of the dates. Coming up to where we should park for the hike, I realized when we were in 30 minute traffic jam that Volcom Pipe Pro was indeed happening. This road is only a one lane both ways road.... so when you can not find a parking spot you have to turn around in sitting traffic. Lets just say trying to park was a good 60 min.
We were about to give up.
Emma was screaming from being in her seat to long.
It was not fun!
We were just going to give it one more go and we became lucky with a spot semi close.

This hike was super easy.
A quick 20 minutes to the first pillbox and you see some amazing views of the North Shore.

The waves were enormous at Pipeline!!!
Perfect for the competition.
It was a pretty amazing view of the show.

Such a quick hike with a amazing pay off!
And just because it took forever parking...we went across the street to watch the Volcom Pipe Pro.

11 Months

Once again, I am late.
Emma is 11 months and one week today.
Just 24 more days and I will have a ONE YEAR OLD!
Crazy!
Being a mom has been such a wonderful experience...and very trying.
I hope Emma is loving her life as much as I am loving her and the way she has changed mine.
~She has been really working on walking. She can take about 10 steps on her own before she plops down. I can tell she thinks its awesome.

~Still really not saying any words. She squeals and makes a ton of noise but nothing that I can make a word out of...except dadada...I don't really count that though.

~She now gives high fives.

~She has 6 teeth.

~Still not even close to sleeping through the night.... but nap times are becoming much much better.

~Eating this month has been a little stressful. She will not open her mouth for a spoon if is she is not busy doing something else. Usually I will give her a paper towel to tear up and feed her quickly before the towel is all in pieces and on the floor.  I don't understand why she fights me on this. I'm thinking she might be over the mush baby food.

~When we are at her My Gym classes I watch all the other little ones sit calmly and play with toys. Emma cant seem to do that. She has to be moving at all times.

~She has graduated from eating sand to digging holes when we are at the beach.

This pretty much sums up what my home looks like 98% of the time.
I still cant believe I kept her alive coming up on a whole year! :)

My Gym Update

We still go to her My Gym class twice a week. Once for a structured class and the other for a free play. She loves it there!
Nonstop moving the whole hour.

Emma seems to really enjoy playing with this particular employee.
Tippy Toes
Roller Coaster
Turtle Time is a when all the babies play without their parents. Learning to play with each other and be independent. Emma loves this time. She tends to always be in the turtle with shoving multiple toys in her mouth....and taking toys from other baby's.
