(This is really stupid, I just had to share) I spent about 2 hours cleaning this nasty, discussing hotel that we are having to live in. I had just got done washing the floor twice (I like it extra clean) and go to fill up the dog bowls and....ya... I was pissed. I forgot to close the container that its in and went to pour out of the spout. And this is not the first time this has happened!!! Lets just say I spent another 10 min with the Pinsol.
Anyways....
Last night Mike and I attended a get together with all of the Officers in his Company for the start of a celebration for his Lieutenant Colonel that is going to be leaving. I met a lot of the lovely wives and cant wait to get to know them better.
Mike also has been thinking about a new tattoo for a wile now. He was going to get one in North Carolina from Charlie (the girl that came in 3rd in the show, Best Ink). Her husband and Mike went to TBS together and was stationed in N.C for the last month we were there. He never really checked her shop out because he thought she was going to be to busy (and frankly so was he). So after asking around where the best spot to go was in Ohau, everyone that he talked to hands down said 808 Tattoo. So 2 weeks ago we went in to find a shop full of people waiting.(good sign) He talked to someone about drawing up what he wanted and they told him the next time they had available would be last night.
St. Michael Archangel was the war-cry of the good angels in the battle fought in heaven against satan and his followers. He is known as the protector of a few things but one of them is the Marine. Mike decided to stay true to the bible and get the prayer in Latin.
Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of
the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.
He really wasn't walking in there expecting to get something so big, because it was lettering though, I guess its recommended so the words don't run together after it gets older. I'm also glad its something other then a memorial tattoo. (like his other ones)(its not for something sad) He was such a trooper too. The ribs are absolutely, hands down the worst place to get tattooed. The guy tattooing was shocked that he was able to sit without a break for a hour.
After Mike gets home from golfing with a few of the guys today, we are going to make our way to the zoo. We literately live 10 feet away from it but haven't been yet. Its Military Appreciation Day there, (free) so it took that for him to finally say yes to my bugging about going.

Too Many Tears
I'm over all the bad news. I'm over all the tissues that I've used in the past 4 days. I'm not going to get into everything because I don't want to relive it but I will say Sheba did have another Dr. appointment today, because ... Yes I was right, she developed a major ear infection. (Stupid Dr.) I called the Vet Clinic on base for a appointment yesterday, and after a hundred answering machine pick ups, someone finally answered the phone. She told me the first available appointment would be on the 24th. I would never let her suffer that long so that would never work. I had talked to someone that has a older dog in our hotel, she gave me a card of the Vet she uses, so I called them.
I took her in today and had a long talk with the Dr. about all of her problems. She has developed a bad cough also with this lovely ear infection so those were the main reasons we were there. It came down to the Dr. saying he has a strong belief that there is something wrong with her brain. Could be cancer or something along those lines. He asked me a questions about her daily life and all the answers were no. She doesn't really know who I am anymore. She doesn't really have the like or want to walk around anymore. She isn't really happy anymore. She really has no clue what going on. He looked at me and said that it is almost time. He thinks 6 months or less. I held back the tears at this point till I got to my car.
Sheba had to stay though. She is having blood work done to see if it is OK to be put to sleep for her ears to be cleaned. One of them were actually closed, so in order to clean it, its better for the dog to be sleeping because of the pain. It's been only 5 years but she has made such a huge impact on my life. I really couldn't see not having her around. I just hope I'm not being selfish and keeping her around to suffer.

7 Questions....
Linkin up with Gentri Lee once again for her weekly 7 questions.Funny Photo: our last nigh out at the Brass Pelican...not really sure what I'm doing???
1. Are you a thrift shopper?
Not really. I never have been the type to "search" for things. My mother loves to find nick knacks there so sometimes I would go with her. She has found some really amazing, expensive stuff there too! Iv always wanted to go to a thrift store in Beverly Hills or somewhere expensive like that tho. (if they even have them out there)
2. You just had a very bad dream, what do you do?
Sit up and say what the heck! Lay back down and try to think of happy thoughts.
3. What is your favorite flavor of Ice Cream?
This is a hard one!!! I'm going to say butter pecan.
4. What do you do with your money? (spend it, save it, invest it, bury it, etc)
I had been really good with saving it before I moved. Now that I am a bum and don't have a job yet so that means no money, its kinda hard to do all of above. My husband is very goods at saving though and we also have been good about starting our retirement savings.
5. What was the last quote or statement you heard that really hit you?
This is absolutely so true!
6. What do you do when you're driving alone? (ex: dance, sing, listen to talk radio, etc)
The radio/CD is playing loudly and I and usually singing with it loudly also.
7. Did you watch the premier of Bachelorette? If so, who was your favorite bachelor?
I didn't. I use to watch that show when it first came one but kinda drifted from it after awhile. I need to get back into it though.

Yes!
So I bought this book on my kindle about 3 months ago. I have a girlfriend that is absolutely obsessed with it so I was excited to get it started and be able to see what the hype was about. I'm not a big reader at all so finding a book that would keep me interested is really kind of rare. I started to read it and, once again, only got through a through pages because I felt it was boring. I kept falling asleep after a page or two. (she did tell me that it was kind of slow in the beginning) I forgot about it after awhile because of our move and frankly I just didnt want to read it.
Last Wednesday, I brought the kindle with me to Mike's dentist appointment to see if I could start it over and things would be different this time. I know I would be sitting there for at least 2 hours and you can only play Words With Friends for so long. Well, all I can say it that, it is now Monday and I am finished. This has never happened to me! I have never, ever been so excited to read a book before, let alone finish it in less then a week. I'm dying to see the movie now, and start the next series. I know I'm late and everyone else has been there and read this already but I'm just excited that I can finally say that I actually found my favorite book.

Thoughts of Home
Happy Mothers Day!
Being Mothers Day had made me realize how much I miss my family. Its been 6 months sense I have last seen them. After living 10 min away, back home to living miles and miles and miles away now, I'm still trying to adjust. I sent my mom a package of a few goodies from the island and of coarse made a phone call too. It just isn't the same. I miss our weekly Sunday breakfasts at the Cracker Barrel where we never order anything different, or walking around their garden looking at the new plant my mother just put in. I just hope we will start to make plans to visit soon. If only money grew on trees!

The 2012 Military Spouse Appreciation Day Blog Hop
Today I am Linking up with Household 6 Diva and Riding the Roller Coaster for Military Spouse Appreciation Day.
Hi!!!
I'm Katie, married to Mike. We are currently living in Oahu, Hawaii, and loving it. Coming from North Carolina and before that our home state of Ohio. We have been together for almost 5 years now and just celebrated our one year anniversary of marriage. All-tho we don't have and kiddo's yet, we have two of the cutest puppy's ever.
I have been a hairstylist for a little over 7 years and love it. Meeting new people everyday is just one of the perks. We just PCSed a few months ago so I have yet to get everything squared away to be able to start working, so the pups and I have been trying to keep busy in till then.
I started to blog as a way to journal what adventures we go through in our new journey and it is now turned into pretty much about everything. My attempt at cooking/baking, travel, crafting, and life. I hope you stay awhile or visit again soon as Mike and I continue our life with the USMC!
Happy Military Spouse Appreciation Day!

Random...
Mikes surgery went well. He surprisingly isn't in that much pain.
Drunk guy at the beach. He enjoyed rolling around in the sand. We watched him for a while, very entertaining!
Happy Hour at the Hard Rock!
I love this!
Another sunset picture. There will probably be a lot of these.
