Kaneohe Bay Air Show

Going to Cleveland's Airshow is something that I always loved to do. We moved to Ohio when I was 4 and pretty much every year after that we were there Labor Day weekend thanks to my dads job. I have so many wonderful memories that its almost my most favorite thing to do. I was really surprised when I heard that Kaneohe Bay puts on a air show also. We had to go!
This is the only time of year that the base is open to the public, meaning LOTS of people!

It was so bright out that I could really see what I was taking pictures of. I have so many of just a bunch of clouds, just a hand full had planes in them.

The Finale.
Blue Angles
I'm burnt to a crisp but overall great day.
Being here reminds me of home. More great memories were made and I cant wait for next year.

Kuliouou Ridge Trail

A friend and I went on a hike this morning into the Koolau Range. It was a beautiful hike called Kuliouou Ridge. It starts off with a ton of switchbacks that gets tiring after a wile. After way to many zig zags it finally comes to a up hill battle.  Not as bad as Koko Head but it was still pretty brutal. The view was totally worth it!

Koko Head in the distance.
ugg!

Friday Letters

Dear Kualoa Ranch.
I have been really thinking about applying to work there. It is just so tempting to be able to care for the one animal that I have always dreamed of owning (horses). If I decide to change my job tittle please make it worth it.
Dear Hair on my Head,
I'm so absolutely sick of you. I need something new desperately! One more month and you are going to have a whole new look. Till then...braids and pony's.
Dear Baby Fever,
Its just not time yet even though I have you really bad. Just calm down.
Dear Old Landlord from Waikiki,
I'm sick of using my a Friday Letter on you. I have been forced to give your number to my husband now because I guess I don't seem that intimidating to you. My husband will now chew your head off. Good Luck!
Have a great weekend everyone!!!

6 Months

It has been 6 months sense Mike and I packed up our lives and headed to this amazing place. We are just loving it here and as of right now don't ever want to leave. 6 months went way to fast! Life needs to slow down because 2 1/2 years will probably come super fast if it keeps at this pace. There is no way that Mike will be able to extend his time here... so this is it.
Pinterest inspired me when I came across a cute idea of a couple that photographed all the places where their feet have take them. I started a little late with this idea (we had already been here for a little bit) but from here on out Mike will have to put up with doing this.

Kualoa Ranch

Mike and I went to Kualoa Ranch this afternoon to take a 2 hour tour on ATV's. This place has over 4,000 acres and is one of the most sacred places on Oahu. I knew this place would be absolutely so beautiful so I was excited to go. Raining all morning I was hoping it was going to clear up so we could get all of the views just perfect...no such luck.

 Goats in a tree?

I would have LOVED to take the tour on horseback but Mike was a little unsure about it.
Thinking about it now, all the horses are pretty "mature" and the tour would have been a lot slower. We probably wouldn't have been able to see as much as we did.
People carved their names all over this tree's leaves. I just couldn't help myself.
Out of all the TV/movies sites that the Ranch has been a part of...50 First Dates, Godzilla, LOST, You Me and Dupree, Hawaii 5-0, Pearl Harbor, Along Came Polly (and many more)...Jurassic Park is the only movie spot that we actually stopped at. Kinda disappointing because I take pictures of EVERYTHING!  I wish I would have been able to just snap a quick photo even if it wasn't anything special of the other spots.

This is the set to the new movie Journey 2 -The Mysterious Island starring Dwayne Johnson (The Rock), Michael Caine, Josh Hutcherson and Vanessa Hudgens.

  Sacred Fish Pond

Overall, pretty good tour.  Like I said earlier though, I wish we would have stopped at other places that signs had marked out were things were filmed. Maybe next time.

LOST Tour

So while Mike was away at OCS 2 winters ago I was stuck home in Ohio in one of the worst winters that I can remember. Beside going to work, seeing family and going out with friends, I was also catching up on shows that I wanted to watch but never did.
Netflix is awesome!
I was excited to start the TV show LOST. I had heard a few people talk about it when it first started but because I missed the first few episodes, I never got into it. Well sitting home on one of the snowy weekends I decided to press play.
I'm pretty sure I made a world record with the time it took for me to watch all the seasons.
Finishing the show and loved it but never expected to able to live in the wonderful place that it was filmed.
I took a drive out to the spots that may look familiar to some.

The First stop was the beach that the Oceanic 815 crashed. Mokule'ia Beach (Tigers Point)

Quiet beach now but when filming started they actually had to move locations because it got to busy. They only used it for the 1st season.

Next I passed by "The Others" town. It is a YMCA and you had to pay and check in to walk around. I decided just to drive by.

The Byodo-In Temple is used as Sun's fathers home. The bridge is where Jin purposed to Sun in a flash back.

The Camp.
This beach was hard to find. I was about to give up looking for it but I gave myself 5 more minutes. There is still remnants of the set that is blocked off by a fence.

I'm a little disappointed in Kualoa Ranch. This place is the home to many many movies sites. Taking a tour and the tour guide passing right by Hurley Golf Course and the Bunkers. I would have at least liked to have stopped for a very brief
second just to snap one picture.
Oh Well.
The only thing I did get a picture of was of what I think held the Hydrogen Bomb...?

Maybe we will take a trip back to ranch again and be able to see the rest of the places that we missed this time.
There is a few places that I didn't stop by that are on the island that I know about.
The house that Hurley bought his mother when he won the lottery. I couldn't find the address to the house, and the Convention Center that was used as the airport that the flight took off from, it is a pain in the butt to get to. Downtown Honolulu with busy traffic.

Looking at all of these spots makes me want to watch the show all over again. If you haven't watched it,  I would highly recommend!
