Best Cordon Bleu

Whenever Mike asks whats for dinner and I say Cordon Bleu he always says...Yesss! This recipe is a few different ones put together. I leave some stuff out from one and add other things to another. We really enjoy it and I know there will be no leftovers.  Its not healthy...but that doesn't matter!

Now... I am not the type of chef cook that measures everything so I am going to try my best to explain.

  • 4 chicken breasts pounded out thin
  • 4 slices of ham- I use Black forest or Bavarian (I find that it gives more flavor)
  • 4 slices of cheese- I use Baby Swiss or Provolone
  • One pack of Rits Crackers.
  • 1 tbls Dijon Mustard (or a little more if you like the taste)
  • Splash of Milk
  • 1 Egg
  • Sprinkle of Garlic Salt
  • Sprinkle of Onion Powder
  • Sprinkle of Pepper
  • Toothpicks
Preheat oven to 350 degree
Clean and pound your chicken breasts
Mix Egg, Milk, and Mustard
Dip chicken into egg wash (if you have time, let marinate for 20 min in the fridge)
Crush the Rits into "bread crumb" like crumbs
Sprinkle all of the seasonings onto the chicken- both sides
Lay flat and top with ham then cheese
Roll up and secure with a toothpick
Place in Breadcrumbs and press down gently till the chicken is coated
Bake for about 20-30 min
*sometimes a little longer depending on the thickness of your chicken

Its sooo good and easy!
Try it!
