Welcome to My Home

So its going on 2 months already since we moved into our new home and I still don't feel like I have it totally together. I have been trying to make the trek out to Target or Bed Bath and Beyond for all of the knick knacks that would make this place a little more homier but living 45 min from the stores isn't that fun. I make a list of what I would like to get and when I get there something always goes wrong. They only have one throw rug rather then the 3 that I wanted or that picture just isn't right... and of course I always get home, look around and start to make another list.
Coming from a 3 bed room 2 bath home you would think I would have had a lot of decor already, well I thought so too. I'm not sure why this home still looks like its empty, but it does.
As of right now, Mike and I are not going to paint the inside of our house. It was painted right before we moved in so everything is a fresh boring white. Thinking about painting seems fun now but 3 years down the road, having to prime over it ourselves again before we leave probably will be a pain in the butt.
I have come to the conclusion today that my house will never be totally done with me being 100% happy with it. I will always want to change something or will see something and have to have it. Its just how it going to go I guess.
This is just a few rooms of the house. The office, kitchen, backyard and laundry room are still not even close to being done, but I'm working on it.

 Living Room
I still would like to add one more thing on the wall to the left of the TV. I have searched all over the internet trying to find those Peir One wall decorations so I could put another one on the other side, but no luck. I'm still trying to think what would be good there. Mirror maybe but I already have one on the other side. (behind the couch)

 Dining Room
We were contemplating using our dining table that seats 8 people but thought that the space might be to tight for that. In till we have a big Thanksgiving meal, I think this one was a good choice for just Mike and I.

Master Bedroom
I still would love to get a sleigh head and foot board for the bed.
and hang something around the TV area...maybe the TV its self.
  Master Bathroom
For some reason this is my least favorite room. I wanted to do a light green color theme but now that I had bought all of the light green things...I don't think it goes well with the floor. I will just have to suck it up and deal with it because Mike would kill me for wasting money.
 ugg...
 Guest Bedroom
Once again I would still like to add something to the right side wall. (decorative shelves or something) but for now this room is done.

 Guest Bathroom
This bathroom is the only one I kept from our old house.
 Down Stairs Bathroom
My sea shell theme.

and once again would like to maybe add something to the wall above the towels.

So now that I have written this post, I realize I am not happy with my house and need to get a move on it and finish already.
Hopefully in the next few weeks (or months) I will have the other rooms done so we can finally enjoy the comfort of home.

Just a quick reminder. The last day to enter my Professional Beauty Products Giveaway is TODAY!

  3. Love it! Should look into some art for the blank areas you're trying to fill. We have such a small house right now that I have a few art pieces behind our couch because there isn't enough wall space... :( I know how you feel when seeing something and just having to have it... Someday. ;) Good job so far!

  4. The house looks GREAT!! Decorating all that wall space can be such a project though, I'm sure. But you'll get there slowly but surely! Matt & I really miss you guys! Hope everything is going well :) Give Bolo a good scratch on the butt for us! lol.

  5. I know exactly how you feel! I've also submitted to the idea that I'll never get this place how I want it, and that's okay, because it's just temporary. I've moved on to having fun decorating for the holidays, haha. One thing I would suggest adding is curtains -- I didn't realize how much more they'd make things look "homey", but they do!

  6. I know how you feel. Then I started going to stores in Jacksonville and was equally disappointed at what I found... then my great husband started taking me to the thrift stores. It was the best thing! I have found so many thing there that we have repurposed into some awesome pieces.
