1st Anniversary

1 year ago today I got married. I cant believe how time fly's! A year ago today, Mike was still at TBS in Quantico, Virginia learning the ropes to become a great Marine. I had to plan the day while still living in Ohio. Calling around, hoping that someone would be able to marry us on a Monday at around 8:00pm. (Mike never knew how long his work day was going to be, so it had to be that late) That's when I found Byron. What a interesting guy he was. He made our wedding day very unique. Of coarse there were other issues too. I needed to find a city that would allow me to get a marriage certificate with out Mike there to sign it. He wasn't able to take off time to do this and of course the courthouse wasn't open on weekends. There was a small town 1 1/2 away that was willing to do this with a POA. I was there! My sister and her boyfriend made the trip from Wisconsin to be a part of the quick ceremony. I'm thankful for that because other wise we wound not have these pictures.

One of these day I do hope to renew our vows. I would love to have the long white dress with family and friends to celebrate. I'm just so thankful that I got to spend this first year with my best friend as a joined couple. There's not one day that goes by that I don't look down at my left hand and smile.

Him not being here to celebrate together has been a little depressing. He made up for it though with a surprise knock at the door. Chocolate and flowers always makes the day better. What he put in the  card was way cute too.

  4. What beautiful pictures, and congrats on your anniversary! We're spending our first one apart too (it's in July) but it's still a great day to celebrate (and, I'm already thinking ahead, an excuse to indulge in some delicious cake :P)
